Paula Reynolds RN

Paula Reynolds is a Registered Nurse with nearly 30 years of experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting. For much of her career Paula has utilized the rubber band method as a means for securing CPAP tubing to patients. Paula became frustrated with the amount of time spent configuring rubber bands and safety pins, the unreliability of this method and the potential safety risks it posed. She empathized with new parents who expressed their concern over having safety pins so close to their infant’s eyes.

With the support of her Nurse Manager Paula set out to find a better way, and soon after the LOLA CPAP Hat was born. Using her personal sewing machine, Paula created and supplied LOLA CPAP Hats for use at the hospital in which she worked. There was no denying colleagues and parents of babies in the NICU found the LOLA CPAP Hat to be superior, and the rubber bands and safety pins were quickly phased out.

In 2014, after much encouragement from her colleagues and family, Paula pursued and was granted a patent for the LOLA CPAP Hat. While sewing is still a passion of Paula’s, LOLA partnered with a manufacturer in the United States to ensure orders of any quantity can be fulfilled.
