CPAP Hat Testimonials

Clinicians have a lot to say about the LOLA CPAP Hat improving the process of securing CPAP tubing in a NICU setting. Read below to discover how the LOLA CPAP Hat could benefit both clinicians and infants in your NICU.

As a Labor & Delivery Nurse and a Clinical Nursing Supervisor, I have observed many NICU nurses struggle with using safety pins and rubber bands when placing CPAP tubing on an infant. Additionally, the babies being set up on CPAP seemed to be very uncomfortable with the old method. Since introducing the LOLA CPAP Hat it appears the process of setting up CPAP tubing for an infant is exponentially easier. The infants also appear more comfortable, which might possibly make CPAP more effective. The LOLA CPAP Hat comes with pre sewn channels, which accommodates the tubing perfectly. Based on my observations I highly recommend the LOLA CPAP Hat over traditional methods for securing CPAP tubing.

I have been a NICU nurse for 13 years.  I have experience with the rubber band safety pin method and the LOLA CPAP Hat is a welcome replacement.  Aside from the safety risks of the old method, the rubber bands and safety pins never provided a secure fit.  The LOLA CPAP Hat provides a cushioned, secure and stable fit which decreases the friction and breakdown of the infant's skin.  I highly recommend this hat.

I’ve worked as a NICU RN for 30 year, and the LOLA CPAP Hat is amazing. For many years I secured CPAP tubing using the old rubber band safety pin method. The LOLA CPAP Hat provides the comfort and safety the sick babies need. The difference in the response from the parents is also very positive.

I appreciate the LOLA CPAP Hat because it is so much easier to place on a baby’s head as you do not have to fuss with placing safety pins and small rubber bands to keep the tubing secure.  It was often very cumbersome using the safety pin method and difficult to obtain symmetry.  With the LOLA CPAP hat, you simply slip the tubing into the pre sewn channels and connect with the nasal prongs.  It has truly been a God send having these hats on the unit.  The babies look so much more presentable, and I don’t worry that they are uncomfortable or that the safety pins are going to open, poke them and cause injury.  Another amazing benefit is that when a parent is doing skin to skin with baby, the hat and prongs stay in place so much better than with the safety pin method.  I am personally very grateful to have the use of these hats, and I believe that all NICU nurses would be as well!

The LOLA CPAP Hat is the perfect hat for babies on bubble CPAP. It has pre sewn channels that fit the tubing perfectly and are spaced so they can be adjusted to fit any baby. It is superior to other methods that use dangerous safety pins that could possibly open and poke the baby. I love the LOLA CPAP Hat and would recommend it to others.

After years of having to affix CPAP prongs to the infant using Velcro, tape, rubber bands and safety pins, the LOLA CPAP Hat has brought such relief to the busy Respiratory Therapist! It’s so easy to put on and take off, and the pre sewn channels make securing the CPAP tubing to any size infant a breeze. It’s the best of both worlds for RT and neonate!

The LOLA CPAP Hat makes the process of securing the NCPAP system quicker, reducing stress to the infant and transition time. The pre sewn channels on the hat hold the tubing securely in place and minimize the NCPAP system from shifting.

I love using the LOLA CPAP Hat for infants with respiratory distress issues.  The hat allows the NICU nurse to position and care for these patients with so much ease. The time saved when using the LOLA CPAP Hat compared to the rubber band safety pin method is now utilized for ABC's, skin care and positioning.  The hats are high quality and the pre sewn channels allow for the tubing to slide through the fabric and not "pop" off like the traditional rubber band safety pin method.  The LOLA CPAP Hat has assisted many nursing efforts in providing quality patient care.

I have been a Registered Nurse in the NICU setting for more than 30 years, and I’ve experienced a few changes over the years. On my unit we have trialed a few different ways to secure tubing on infants requiring CPAP. The LOLA CPAP Hat is by far the best!  It’s secure with less wiggle room for the tubing, which provides comfort for the patient. The different hat sizes allow you to meet the patient’s individual needs. Lastly, the LOLA CPAP Hat creates the opportunity to deliver a more streamlined treatment to the infant, the CPAP stays in place and the infant receives all the benefit!

Having used CPAP as a primary mode of ventilation for infants for years while at various institutions, I have been amazed at the number of different mechanical devices that have been used to affix the CPAP to the infant. Ranging from the archaic to the high tech, these devices all have their issues. The LOLA CPAP Hat is incredibly functional, easy to use, quick to apply, well tolerated by infants and most importantly keeps the CPAP prongs where they should be. A simple solution for a time-tested therapy!
Carolyn Levine, MD Neonatologist
After 25 years in Respiratory Therapy and Nursing, I have never come across something so easy to use, that is also comfortable for the neonate. The LOLA CPAP Hat has vastly improved the productivity and quality of care for this patient population!
Kimberly Shepardson, RRT, RN, BSN
The LOLA CPAP Hat is an easier and more efficient way to secure CPAP tubing compared to the traditional rubber band safety pin method.  The hat adds a natural barrier that protects the infant’s head while adding stability to prevent tubing from disconnecting if the infant moves their head.
